Products & BOMs
Concepts
Section titled “Concepts”A product is a top-level item your organization manufactures or assembles. Each product contains one or more BOMs (bills of materials). Multiple BOMs per product are useful when a product has multiple PCBs or board variants.
Products List
Section titled “Products List”Go to Products in the sidebar to see all products.
Creating a Product
Section titled “Creating a Product”- Click New Product.
- Enter a product name.
- Optionally add a description.
- Click Create.
Editing a Product
Section titled “Editing a Product”Click on a product to open it. The product name and description are editable inline — click the text to edit, then click away or press Enter to save.
Deleting a Product
Section titled “Deleting a Product”Click the delete button on a product card. A confirmation dialog appears. Deleting a product removes all its BOMs.
Product Detail Page
Section titled “Product Detail Page”The product detail page shows all BOMs for that product.
Pricing Staleness
Section titled “Pricing Staleness”Each BOM shows a staleness indicator:
- Green dot — All prices are fresh (less than 24 hours old)
- Red dot — Some or all prices are stale (more than 24 hours old)
Refresh All Prices
Section titled “Refresh All Prices”Click Refresh All Prices to update distributor pricing for every part across all BOMs in the product. This runs in the background — a progress indicator shows the status.
Creating a BOM
Section titled “Creating a BOM”- From the product detail page, click New BOM.
- The BOM is created and opened in the BOM editor.
Deleting a BOM
Section titled “Deleting a BOM”Click the delete button next to a BOM. If the BOM is used as a sub-assembly in other BOMs, a warning is shown listing the dependent BOMs.
Interactive BOM (iBOM)
Section titled “Interactive BOM (iBOM)”If a BOM has an iBOM file uploaded, a PCB icon appears next to it. Click the icon to view the interactive PCB visualization. See BOM Editor — PCB View for details.
